A rare deep-sea octopus nursery has been discovered off the coast of Costa Rica, making it only the third known octopus nursery in the world. The nursery, named the Dorado Outcrop, is 2 miles beneath the surface of the Pacific Ocean and is the first known aggregation of deep-sea octopuses.

Maasai families in Kenya have been given cows as reparations for stolen artefacts by the University of Oxford, but they say it is not enough. The families received 49 cows each, five years after a Kenyan man petitioned the university to return the artefacts.

Ukraine has allegedly launched a drone attack on Moscow, targeting Vnukovo International Airport and other locations in the region. The Russian defence ministry claims that all five drones used in the attack were shot down, causing no casualties or damage.

Nasdaq has resubmitted an updated filing for the iShares Bitcoin Trust, a spot bitcoin ETF with BlackRock. The filing includes a surveillance sharing agreement with Coinbase. This comes after the SEC told Nasdaq and Cboe that recent filings for spot bitcoin ETF funds were not clear and comprehensive.

Australian scientists have diagnosed chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in a professional female athlete for the first time. The diagnosis was made on the brain of Heather Anderson, an Australian Rules footballer. CTE causes an increased risk of mental illness.

Facebook owner Meta is set to launch a new app called Threads, which will rival Twitter. The app will be linked to Instagram and described as a "text-based conversation app." This move comes amid a rivalry between Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter owner Elon Musk.

The Fukushima facility is running out of storage space for the water. The UN watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), has approved Japan's plan to release waste water from the Fukushima nuclear plant into the sea. The IAEA says the release will have a minimal impact on the environment.
